I am originally from St Albans, Hertfordshire and I have just graduated from Falmouth University with first class honours (June 2020), and am super excited to get stuck into my next project/job!
My experiences on the Animation and Visual Effects BA course at Falmouth has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills ranging from a variety of softwares such as; TVPaint, Autodesk Maya, Photoshop and After Effects. At university I have collaborated with my fellow students, completing festival worthy animations. The studios provided a great creative working environment. Working with other peoples' skillset is a great way for me to learn about the other aspects of animation.
I have a year's worth of industry experience, completed between my studies. I was an intern at El Carousel in Cornwall. This hands on experience has enabled me to work with clients in a professional studio setting. During the internship I completed work for; the BBC, Benefit Cosmetics and Cornwall Museum Partnerships. I also gained lots of experience in the 3D software Cinema 4D.
During my final year of university I pitched a film concept, and after getting the green light, myself and a team of 40 worked together to bring my characters Spy and Wallace to life. I directed my film "Case Closed", which was finished in lockdown and has now been entered into festivals. Immediately after graduating I was asked to direct a BBC Coronavirus animated poem with a team of 20. We originally had six weeks to complete the animation whilst in lockdown, but as it was easing the deadline was shortened to 5 weeks. When the animation was finished it was broadcasted on BBC Spotlight in the South West (12.06.2020). I was also interviewed on TV with the poet and my colleague Producer. This was an amazing experience. You can watch the film here.
