Hi there!

I'm Lucy, a recent graduate of Falmouth University, currently located in Hertfordshire.

Currently, I am a Junior Rig Assistant at Blue Zoo Animation Studio. Before rigging I had 8 months of experience as a Scene Build Artist at Blue Zoo on "It's Pony!" Season 2. It has been really rewarding to see the process and dedication through all pipeline areas and see the production come to life. Building rigs has been a nice balance between the artistic and technical side of animation. Although challenging at first, I find the solving problem aspect rewarding and enjoy making my work as effective as possible for animators. I also love the drawing side and making sure my artwork is clean and has the required turnarounds needed for the shot.

Completing my degree in Animation and Visual Effects BA course at Falmouth has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills where collaborating with my other peers has given me the confidence to produce award-winning films. In October 2020 the Coronavirus short won 'Best Overall Film' at the NAHEMI Canon competition and it was later aired on BBC News South West. My student grad film "Case Closed" also got shortlisted for a student BAFTA this year.

Before graduating in 2020, I gained a year's worth of industry experience completed between my studies. I was an intern at El Carousel in Cornwall. This hands-on experience has enabled me to work with clients in a professional studio setting. During the internship I completed work for; the BBC, Benefit Cosmetics and Cornwall Museum Partnerships.

My passion for filmmaking and being a part of large production is what keeps me motivated when I produce my work. Although I have lots of experience in the technical side of animation, I also love developing my design skills and developing my lighting techniques in my spare time. I have an obsession with funky shapes, colour and texture!

News and Updates
BAFTA Student Awards 2021

I was very fortunate enough to attend the 2021 GSA BAFTA Student Awards this year, after hearing the amazing news that Case Closed was shortlised in the animation category. I attended a number of inspirational industry events, talking about the industry and meeting others online from around the world. I found these events as a once in a lifetime oppotunity, and I am super grateful to meet such inspiring artists and professionals. A huge thank you to the BAFTA board, for organising this amazing experience.

BBC Broadcast - Coronavirus animation 2020

When we were comissioned by the BBC to produce a animated short about Matt Harvey's Coronavirus poem, when we completed we premiered the poem on live TV. Later we discussed what the animation means to us and we hope others enjoy it and bring some light in this unpredictable situation.

BBC Broadcast - Jubilee Pool 2019

We were fortunate to be given the oppotunity to show our film about Jubilee Pool storys to BBC spotlight. We showcased our work and discussed how we wanted to animate the happiness the Lido brings to the community in Penzance.
